The EYFS
At East Park Primary, our Foundation Stage encompasses both our Nursery and Reception units, offering a vibrant and stimulating learning environment for all our youngest learners. We are proud to provide a seamless and progressive educational journey from the moment children join us in Nursery through to the end of their Reception year.
Our Foundation Stage is designed with flexible learning spaces, allowing us to adapt to the unique needs of our children. We can operate as individual or classes seamlessly opening up our learning areas to create larger, collaborative spaces where children can learn together. Our high-quality indoor and outdoor environments provide ample space for active learning, exploration, and creative play, ensuring every child has the room to discover and grow.
We strongly value parental involvement in every step of their child's early education. We regularly invite parents to join their children in a variety of activities, including reading, writing, numeracy, and topic-based sessions. Curriculum afternoons are held each half-term to share our learning initiatives and provide valuable insights into how parents can best support their child's development at home. Specific dates for these enriching events are always included in our half-termly newsletters.
Our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum
At East Park Primary School, our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum is dedicated to nurturing confident, curious, and happy learners. We firmly believe in the transformative power of play and exploration to ignite a lifelong love of learning from the very beginning.
Our engaging and supportive environment encourages children to learn through play-based activities, both indoors and in our extensive outdoor spaces. We diligently follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework, emphasizing child-initiated learning alongside carefully planned adult-directed activities.
